This fuse is in unused clean condition. It looks like a standard Bormann fuse but the time designations are in braille instead of Arabic numbers.
A fuse similar to this one is pictured on page 24 of Charles H. Jones’ book “ARTILLERY FUSES OF THE CIVIL WAR.” He states that the fuse is described in the 1863 manual “INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIELD ARTILLERY.”
