Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 819-08

This relic consists of the blade and guard of a cut-down Model 1833 Dragoon saber.

The active rust has been removed leaving iron and brass surfaces that have darkened and discolored from ground action. The iron has also pitted. The blade meas. approx. 19.75 inches long and has a reground point. From the patina and surface discolorations it appears as though the blade was cut down before it was lost.

Still present are the knuckle-bow with two extensions and the slim counterguard with quillion as well as the blade tang.

This relic was dug at Nashville, TN, at the Confederate position along the railroad lines.

With the item is a letter of authenticity from a previous seller attesting to the fact that the item was recovered in Nashville.
