CONFEDERATE PIKE BLADE RECOVERED IN LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA

$395.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 819-10

This relic consists of a top portion of a Confederate pike. It has both the blade and the top finial.

The iron blade is double edged and would be diamond shaped in cross-section. The iron surface is lightly pitted throughout with the edge being uneven due to corrosion. The point looks to be the original. The overall length of the blade is 11.50 inches.

Attached to the base of the blade is the cylindrical brass finial which has darkened with age.  Inside the body of the finial is the remains of the wood shaft and the pin that held the finial to the blade and the shaft. Also present is approx. 5.00 inches of the blade’s tang.

This relic was dug near Lynchburg, Virginia.
