CONFEDERATE SPUR RECOVERED FROM SAVAGE’S STATION

$365.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: R20099

Confederate “RICHMOND” Pattern spur. The item is made completely of brass. The yoke is just a thick piece of brass that has been flattened and bent into a “U” shape with two horizontal slits cut on each end for leather straps. The yoke tends to get wider on the ends where the slits are. Attached to the bend in the yoke is a solid brass arm for a rowel that is now missing. The spur is very solid.

Spur was dug at Savage’s Station in Virginia. This was the site of one of the Seven Days battles before Richmond during McClellan’s Peninsula Campaign.
