This large fragment consists of ¾ of a Hotchkiss shell missing only the nose. The sabot is still in place and exhibits some wonderful rifling marks from having been fired.

The rest of the iron surfaces have light to moderate rust and light pitting. With the nose missing a clear view of the interior cavity is possible.

Fragment comes seated on a wooden base.

Item was recovered near Atlanta, Georgia.
