This bullet was recovered from the Allegheny Arsenal near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was deformed in the 1862 explosion. Accompanying the bullet is a note that reads “RELICS FROM ALLEGHENY ARSENAL after the explosion, Sep. 17, 1862, in which 72 persons lost their lives. Donated by Henry Henk.” The note is in two pieces, but is clearly legible.
