Pieces of a US canister round that have been re-assembled and glued in place. The tin siding of the body is missing, as is the wooden sabot. 27 canister balls are arranged in four layers of six balls, with three additional balls in the center, all between two canister plates. All of the pieces have been cleaned and coated in shellac. Some of the balls show very minor surface pitting; the rest are in excellent condition. These pieces were recovered from City Point on the James River in Virginia.
