US 12 lb., 4.52 inch spherical half shell with bullets clearly visible in the black matrix. This shell used an extremely rare Wright time fuse which functioned similarly to a Bormann time fuse. Visible are pistol and musket balls. Both Union and Confederate shells were filled in this fashion, making them into case-shot projectiles. Center of shell matrix shows cylindrical cavity where a bursting charge occurred.
Exterior of shell has moderate pitting. Great for display.
