Solid artillery round that was cleaned years ago. Top has indentation where sprue was knocked off. Surface of the round has scattered light pitting but is otherwise in good condition.
Shot is nicely marked as is most items from the Mason collection. At top is a US in an oval followed by “WEST POINT / R.R. / 12-Pn Dr.” along with linear decorations.
Mac Mason was a pioneer in the field of Civil War projectile collecting and study. Items from his collection are much sought after.
