Excavated coat sized button with a face that consists of a large script letter “I” on a plain field. Two-piece construction. The face has turned dark from ground action and has a large dent in the center, but details are easily discernable. Reverse has the original straight shank but the backmark is unreadable. The button is very solid.

Recovered on 3/25/1998 at “Pennington Farm”, wherever that is.
