This English pattern 1853 Enfield rifle musket was excavated along Mineral Springs Road on the Chancellorsville battlefield in 1989. Almost a complete musket (only brass nose cap is missing) that was intentionally destroyed because of a broken mainspring. The owner smashed the musket against a tree so it could not be easily repaired and used by the enemy. This gun has all the signs of that type of damage: bent barrel along with a twisted and broken trigger guard. Relic condition, but coated and in exceptional condition.
Length of item will require shipment in one of our sword/carbine boxes - $35.00 insured UPS east of the Mississippi, $50.00 west of the Mississippi.
