Rare little Confederate shell for the CS 2.25” mountain rifle. Mullane pattern with the remains of a wooden fuze plug in the nose and the copper “cupped” sabot held in place by a bolt in the center and three small iron pins. Typical surface pitting for an excavated shell. Overall in very good condition. The shell has been coated. Recovered from the Savannah River.
