US pattern 1826 Eagle breast plate. Lead backing still intact; the loops are rusted, and one is broken. Front has some dirt on it, but under that is a nice dark patina. Relic was recovered at the CS lines, Spotsylvania Courthouse.  Digger’s tape tag attached to reverse.
