Excavated M-1816 bayonet for a .69 caliber musket. Dug in the early 1970s in the lines where Jackson’s flank attack struck the Union 11th Corps on Route 3 at Chancellorsville. You can still make out the stampings on the blade “SC” and WG”. This is the marking for William Glaze, owner of the Palmetto facility. This is in rusty “dug” condition but is very stable as it has been coated and out of the ground so long. A very nice relic with easily seen Confederate markings.
