This zinc Parrott time fuse adapter would have taken a paper time fuse. The flanged head is indicative of manufacture later in the war, and on the head is a raised “W” that is still faintly visible. Adapter measures approximately 2 ½” from the head to the base. This pattern adapter is threaded about halfway down the body, or about 1 inch. Surface shows only very light oxidation and discoloration. [JT]
