US brass Naval watercap fuse adaper, dated 1862. No lead safety patch; original watercap remains in place. Adapter is screwed into a brass bushing that does not come off. Stamped lettering with navy anchor symbol remains on the head. Adapter measures approximately 2 3/8” long and the bushing is about one inch. Head measures about 1 ¼” in diameter. Adapter exhibits small surface dents and dings and a dark, even patina.   [JT]
