US brass Naval watercap fuse adaper, dated 1862. Most of the lead safety patch is missing. Stamped lettering with navy anchor symbol remains on the head, but is not very clear. Adapter measures approximately 2 3/8” long and is threaded about an inch down the body. Head measures about 1 ¼” in diameter. Adapter exhibits an uneven greenish patina consistent with age. [JT]
