This plate is complete with a keeper that has the same finish and patina as the plate but it has been married to it. The fit is close but not perfect. Neither plate nor keeper has a benchmark.
The face is in good condition with a dark surface patina but all the details can be discerned.
Reverse has a small narrow tongue and is marked in silver ink “SPOTSYLVANIA / COURTHOUSE / MARCH 22, 1974.”
Item is from the collection of the late author and relic hunter Mac Mason. [ad]
