This US breast plate features the spread-winged eagle design. It was recovered from the greater Richmond area. Plate is in good relic condition and has a darkened patina and light surface rust. Edge of plate has slight nicks.  Reverse of plate still retains lead fill and but iron loops are not present. Maker’s mark is on reverse and reads, “W.H. SMITH, BROOKLYN”.     [sm]
