This excavated U.S. breast plate features the spread-winged eagle design. Plate has a dark brown patina. Edge of plate is free of nicks.  Reverse of plate still retains lead fill and both iron loops are present. Both loops have light surface rust. Partially stamped in the lead is “E. GAYLORD”. Recovered in the greater Richmond, VA area.  [jet]
