RELIC SECTION OF US MODEL 1840 NCO OR MUSICIAN SWORD

$195.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 819-44

This relic is a cut down Model 1840 NCO or Musician sword and consists of 15.50 inches of the blade and the brass grip.

The blade is dark with surface rust and moderate pitting. There is also some small scattered spots of white paint. Visible on one side of the ricasso is “US 1863” while the other has hints of the makers mark. Painted in white on one side of the blade is “RELIC NCO SWORD.”

The cast ribbed brass grip is present with the pommel but the knucklebow and guards have been removed.

Despite the relic being marked as an NCO sword without the guards it is not possible to tell if it is an NCO or a Musician sword.

Place of recovery is unknown.  [ad]
