Excavated pewter cuff button from the Revolutionary War.  Enlisted pattern. Flat button with raised intertwined letters “USA” in the center and remains of a “pie-crust” border.  Reverse has a perfect cast loop shank.  18 mm.  Reference, Troiani #AUSA.sd.  Coated with clear lacquer.  Some edge loss, but otherwise in very good condition.

Recovered by Dean Thomas in the “New Boston” camp in the Hudson Highlands of New York.  [jet]
