This is an excavated brass Rhode Island state seal button. Coat size. This is a dug button that has been mostly flattened. The face retains very good detail. The shank has broken off. The back mark reads “SCOVILLE MFG CO. WATERBURY”. Nice dark brown patina overall. A nice and displayable example of a New England state seal button. [jet]
