This is an excavated brass Georgia state seal button.  Coat size. This is a dug button that has been over cleaned. The face exhibits ground action but is shiny. The shank is complete and stands straight. The back has remnants of a Mintzer, Philadelphia back mark.  An honest (overcleaned) example of a Confederate state button.  [jet]
