Copper token about the size of a modern penny. The surface has darkened but token is readable.

Obverse says “REDEEMED AT MY OFFICE 1863” and is decorated with a flowing line design.

Reverse reads “OLIVER BOUTWELL” around the edge with “MILLER” at center and “TROY, N.Y.” across the bottom. Reverse has the same decorative decoration as the front.

Mr. Boutwell was born in 1806 and died November 13, 1888. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, New York.

Token is encased in a hard plastic lens.    [ad]
