Long barreled single shot pistol in relic condition. All metal surfaces are lightly rusted and pitted. Hammer and triggerguard are gone.
The part octagonal and part round barrel meas. approx. 6.00 inches long and is .32 caliber. The trigger and nipple are present.
Wood grips are swollen and show minor chipping and wear. There are three small notches carved on the right grip alongside the receiver tang.
An old tag attached reads “THIS CAP + BALL MUZZLE LOADING PISTOL PERIOD OF 1840 WAS FOUND IN LAKE CHAMPLAIN, ABOUT 40 YEARS AGO. NOTE 3 MARKS ON RIGHT GRIP. A VERY NICE RELIC.” Tag probably dates from the 1970’s or 80’s. [ad]
