Confederate Conversion - Virgina Manufactory Artillery Saber.  This saber from the Federal period was taken from the armory by the Southern states and cut down for use in the Civil War.  This specimen is in relic condition.  The blade and guard are heavily pitted and have turned a dark brown patina. The leather grip is missing but the original wood core and wire are present.  Very sound relic that can be attributed to the War of 1812 and to the War Between the States.
