The standard ammunition for the 3-inch rifled cannons. This shell was fired but is amazing condition. Iron body is smooth, clean and free of rust. Standard iron sabot is complete but shows rifling from being fired. Percussion fuse system is complete and is good shape. Anvil still unscrews to show complete (capped) slider inside. A paper label is taped to the side that reads, “US 3” Parrott Rifle Shell. Percussion Fuse, Early Type. Soft Iron Sabot. Dug 7-Days Battles, Richmond, Mac Mason”. [JET]
