Here is a piece of wood containing a fired Civil War bullet, the remains of a tree that was in the line of fire during the fighting along the North Anna River in Virginia.  The piece measures about 10” long by 1 ½” at its widest point. The bullet is encased within the wood which was split so that the two halves can be opened to expose the bullet and its path. The pieces of wood are stable.  A great relic from the 1864 Overland Campaign.  [jet]
