Here is a piece of wood containing a fired Civil War bullet, the remains of a tree that was in the line of fire during on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The piece measures about 4 ½” long by 1” at its widest point. The bullet is well encased within the wood with a portion of the bullet visible. The piece of wood is stable and has been coated.
