Here is a piece of wood containing a fired Civil War bullet, the remains of a tree that was in the line of fire during the Battle of Bentonville, North Carolina.  The piece measures about 6” long by 1 ¾” at its widest point. Bullet is firmly embedded in the center of the piece and is partially visible. This is a piece of heartwood and is very solid and stable.  A great relic from one of the last battles of the Civil War.  [jet]
