From the famed Sydney Kerksis Collection [See Kerksis, PLATES & BUCKLES OF THE AMERICAN MILITARY]. Recovered from 9th Army Corps site, North Anna, VA. Smooth symmetrical face, exhibiting dark winey patina and minor scratching round the edge. Reverse arrow-hooks & prong solidly attached but somewhat flattened. Lead backing grimily oxidized, but present. Handsome relic buckle, solid collectible. [JP]
