Recovered November 1865 at Bethesda Church, Shady Road, in vicinity of Burnside’s 9th Army Corps. Retains scrap of belt around reverse “Puppy Paw” attachments. Front “US” face smooth and symmetrical; exhibits verdigris corrosion, while displaying a deep plum colored patina. Reverse hook and “Puppy Paw” attachments strong and secure. Lead back exhibits of oxidation and grime. Else VG & solid. [jp]
