Field recovered example is very good condition. One piece, flat button with “LONG LIVE THE PRESIDENT” around the edge and a wreath in the center. Text and wreath retain the original gilt and show beautifully against the dark brown patina of the button. No shank or back mark on rear. 20mm in diameter. Unknown recovery location.
An excellent “dug” example of a scarce button. [jet]
