Relic lockplate appears to be complete with internal parts and hammer. Item is heavily pitted with some surface rust but “US” over “SPRINGFIELD” can be made out. The date behind the hammer cannot be discerned. Hammer is frozen.

Area of recovery is unknown. Most likely central Virginia.  [ad]
