Excavated iron lockplate and hammer from an Enfield rifle.  Heavy surface rust and pitting from being in the ground. Uncleaned.  Much of the works remain in place on back of lockplate as well as the two long screws that held the lock to the stock.  The mainspring is broken and may be the reason it was discarded.   [jet]
