EXCAVATED “US” BASE MINIE BALL

$35.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 33-664

This is a .58 caliber “minie ball” for rifle muskets. This is the regulation three-groove bullet with a cone cavity that was developed in the mid-1850s.  Of northern arsenal manufacture, this bullet has a “US” in the base.  This “US” was formed by a punch during manufacturing.

Bullet features nice, smooth white patina with a couple of minor chips on one side. A very nice example of this variety of bullet.  [jet]
