Confederate telegraph glass insulator was excavated from the site of the C.S. quartermaster depot in Richmond, VA. The glass melted from the heat of the fire when the city burned in April, 1865. Vintage tag describing item is taped on insulator.

Measures approximately 3 ¾” by 5”.  [sl]
