Relic large cent. Coin has been beat on and is covered in dings but Liberty head on face and “CENT” on reverse is visible. Brass has brown patina. Marked in white paint on front, “Burnside Bridge”.
Part of an old collection of Antietam Battlefield relics. Original collector/painter is unknown. All pieces from this group feature similar identifications done in a fine script with white paint. [jet]
