Relic trunk lock with brass key hole cover. Key hole cover features an eagle over “WW & Co.” Back of lock and guts are gone, remaining iron is rusty, brass has smooth green patina. Stable condition. Marked in white paint on front, “Antietam Battlefield / found near the Dunker Church”.
Part of an old collection of Antietam Battlefield relics. Original collector/painter is unknown. All pieces from this group feature similar identifications done in a fine script with white paint. [jet]
