Complete nose section of a Hotchkiss shell. Sabot with flame grooves is present at bottom. Conical nose section also has flame grooves and the brass fuse adapter in the nose.

Item is in good condition with moderate surface pitting to the iron. Sabot has painted white rectangle with “1862-US-1988 / HOTCHKISS JAMES RIVER (MALVERN HILL.)  [ad]
