RESIN MINIATURE OF THE 13TH NEW JERSEY MONUMENT AT GETTYSBURG

$45.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 460-1453

Back in the late 1990’s resin miniatures of some of the Gettysburg battlefield monuments were offered for sale here at The Horse Soldier and were very popular. The company producing these monuments was small and eventually stopped production. Fortunately they have brought us the unsold portion of their inventory so we can once again offer these fine replicas to the public.

Though made of resin the monuments are painted and textured to match carved stone.

The particular miniature monument offered here is for the 13th New Jersey Infantry. The item stands approx. 7.25 inches high x 4.75 inches across the base. Depicted on the face of the monument is a soldier kneeling and firing his musket in the woods with his haversack and canteen on the ground in front of him. Beneath the soldier is “13TH NEW JERSEY VOLS.”

The reverse, unlike the original monument, is devoid of any text. Due to the scale of the miniature any text on the reverse would be unreadable.

The original monument to the 13th New Jersey stands east of the base of Culp’s Hill in the woods near Rock Creek. The regiment was assigned to the 1st Division, 12th Corps at Gettysburg. It carried 360 men into the battle and lost 1 man killed and 20 wounded.
