A VERY RARE specimen of a scaled down size version of a hooded-cape in an oil cloth material. This rain cape contains all the details of its full size version along with a ruffled bonnet type front opening. Other interesting features are the pockets and flaps which can be accessed through the outer body into any garment that was worn beneath. The cape body interlining is of a brown glazed cotton that is typical of the period. All of the seams are of machine construction. The outer oil cloth surface is in excellent supple condition, with very light wear considering its age and there are no signs rips or separations at the seam areas. Whom ever created this little “Gem” took the time and effort to add all the details that they could to mimic the full size version. The measurements are as as follows: The lower hem of this cape, (fanned out) is 23” across, and tappers up to the shoulder area which is 9”across. The hood measures 3 ½” in height by 3” at the front opening. Again, an exceedingly scarce survivor!!
