Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 37-387

Wool Cavalrymen’s epaulette with tassels for an enlisted man. Wool surface shows some light wear and surface dirt.

The body is covered with yellow cloth and has a double row of twisted wool outlining the clamshell. The end opposite the clamshell has a buttonhole for attaching to the uniform jacket. Suspended from the clamshell are very short wool tassels with joined ends.

The underside is lined with a white polished cotton that shows moderate surface dirt but that is otherwise in good condition. The lining is stamped “H. KORN / PHLIA..” in a black rectangle. The Henry Korn Company was in business from 1817 to 1862 and had government contracts in 1842 and 1846 for uniform accessories such as pom-poms, tassels, plumes worsted bindings epaulettes etc.  [AD]
