Domed pillbox style cap in very nice condition.

The entire exterior base of the cap is wrapped in a 3.00 inch tall band of black lamb’s wool with a ¾ inch wide band of gold bullion tape above it. The crown of the cap is made of a royal blue wool with four ribs of red piping ascending from the sides, front and back and meeting at the apex of the crown. The top of the crown has 0.50 inch high brass ball outlined around the base with two rows of dead bullion wire. All is in good condition with no mothing or tears only light surface dirt from age and storage.

Attached to the front of the cap is a stamped brass Russian Imperial eagle with riband. Above this is a Russian type pip of silver with a black inlay.

The interior is as nice as the exterior. The brown leather sweat band is complete and meas. approx. 1.50 inches high. The band shows signs of wear from use and staining from sweat.

The lining is complete and made of gray silk gathered to a button in the crown. The button is covered in the same material as the lining. It is in excellent condition over all.  [ad]
