Strap is for a 2^nd Lieutenant of Infantry. It has the patented stamped brass false embroidered border with a sky blue rank field at center and a dark blue backing underneath.

The brass border shows some light dirt and tarnish while the rank field has faded a little and is chewed by moths mostly around the edges. The dark blue wool underside is also moderately damaged by moth action.  Remains of patent mark also visible on underside.
