This is a matching pair of lieutenant colonel of infantry shoulder straps measuring approximately 5” x 2”. These are triple bordered, infantry straps. The bullion embroidered borders are in perfect condition with just the right amount of tarnishing for their age. The blue velvet fields are heavily worn with very little nap remaining. These appear black (for Staff) at first glance, but with the benefit of direct sun light at my desk, when held at an angle the small amount of remaining nap shines the bright blue color of infantry. In the same way, the oak leaves at first appear dark, but are actually tarnished silver for the rank of Lt. Colonel.
These straps probably saw service, as they show wear, fading, and evidence of having been sewn on a uniform. Overall these are in nice condition showing honest wear. [jet]
