EXCELLENT CONDITION 1864 DATED CAVALRY SHELL JACKET

The body of this jacket is in excellent condition. There is no visible moth damage of any kind. All the piping is present and is bright. Both pillows are present on the back and are also in good condition. All buttons are present. All are General Service eagle buttons with blank backs except for the button at front bottom which is marked “SCOVILLE EXTRA.” Cuffs are functional. One cuff button is loose but present.

Interior is lined with a brown wool material. There is a breast pocket along the edge of the left liner seam. Liner shows two areas of stress separations in the neck. Both are about 2.00 x 3.00 inches. There is also minor amounts of stress separations around the junction of the body with the sleeve lining on both arms. Right sleeve lining is marked with two dots and the number “2” for Size “2.” There is also a smudged inspector’s mark that can be partially read “CINCINNATI / U.S. / ????”

This jacket is in great condition and exhibits signs of only light use.  [ad]
