$695.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 490-1894

This set of shoulder straps, has the rich medium blue often used by infantry officers along with the lighter sky blue. Measure 3 1/8” x 1 1/8”. The centers are velvet and preserve all of their nap, without moth nips, holes, or tracking. The color is very good and accentuates the large amount of gilding left on the bullion borders and bars. The straps still have their narrow coiled jacqueron wire interior and exterior borders as well. The highest portions of the embroidery show very minor rubbing or oxidation and the overall impression is a striking combination of gold and lustrous blue.

The straps are dead-on typical wartime construction with squared corners to the bullion borders and open-weave backs with the edge fabric simply turned underneath, which would be concealed when sewn to the coat. All threads are tight. A few stray ones show these were once mounted on a uniform.  [sr]
