White satin ribbon meas. approx. 2.00 inches wide x 6.00 inches long. Inside a black border is printed “WE MOURN THE NATION’S LOSS-ABRAHAM LINCOLN APRIL 15, 1865.” With the ribbon comes a period advertisement clipped from a newspaper that reads the same as the ribbon and explains that they can be purchased with or without a gold pin. The cost was $25 per hundred with the pin and $12.50 per hundred without. Clipped ad meas. approx. 2.50 x 2.00 inches. This is the first time we have encountered a badge with a copy of the advertising with it. Both pieces are in very good condition.
